Located within a private conservancy, this exclusive camp lies in front of the largest, natural salt lick in the Masai Mara attracting an abundance of wildlife all day long. The twelve tented suites – including one for families – are amongst the largest in East Africa; each boasts an expansive wooden deck with sunken hot tub and telescope, spacious beds and en suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower. A gourmet menu of à la carte dishes is served in the restaurant, accompanied by an extensive selection of world wines from the underground cellar. Activities include day and night game drives in open 4x4 vehicles and walking safaris within the conservancy; unwind by the infinity pool or enjoy a treatment at the new Amani African Spa, with its heated pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and gym.
The Amani African Spa village at Mara Bushtops has been voted Africa's best safari spa in the 2017 World Luxury Spa Awards. This is the second time the Amani Spa has won the award, which demonstrates just how popular and incredible it is. Choose between relaxing in the sauna, Rasul steam room, hot Jacuzzi or heated infinity pool - with beds inside the pool complete with water jets - or escape the heat in the cold plunge pool. Alternatively, stay all day and enjoy all the spa's offerings. Whatever you choose, you are sure to come away rejuvinated.
January to March is hot and dry with the long rains usually falling from April to early June. Between June and October it is warm and dry during the day but cold at night. The migration usually arrives in the Mara from July with river crossings from Tanzania generally taking place between July and September. The herds rest in Kenya before crossing back to Tanzania in October/November. Kenya’s coast enjoys a tropical climate – April to June can be humid, tempered by monsoon winds. Nairobi is pleasant year round due to its altitude.
