Clayoquot Island, British Columbia / Clayoquot Wilderness Resort

Idyllically sited at the point where the Bedwell River spills out into a majestic fjord on the Pacific, this Relais & Châteaux tented eco-safari enclave has every conceivable home comfort. Each luxurious tent features king or queen-size beds and a private bathroom with underfloor heating and a covered outdoor rainforest shower.

Dining at Clayoquot represents a multifaceted affair, with each location offering a unique take on artisan fare. The finest cuts of locally-raised meats and fresh seafood freshly sourced from the extraordinary Clayoquot team featuring Relais & Chateaux class chefs are served at the Cookhouse, Outpost or the open-kitchen bar. Personalised dining is taken to a gloriously reformative level the night before departing, as the resort chef's prepare a lavish multi-course tasting menu paired with award-winning British Columbia wines.

Daily wilderness activities are limitless and most are included; horseback riding, hiking with a First Nations escort or choose from adrenaline-rushing activities such as kayaking, zip lining, deep sea fishing, horse riding, whale and bear watching. Each activity is tailored to preferred interests and abilities by dedicated Activities Directors, ensuring both new and well trodden activities can be sought across 600 acres of outpost paradise in the company of expert guides keen to share their local knowledge of the flora and fauna. The estuary fronting the camp is a true marine playground teeming with wildlife; salmon and steelhead are among the prevalent catches in the local river system, while the shoreline is an excellent opportunity to spot brown bears, whilst further to sea  - grey whales, porpoises and seals can be seen. Relax and rejuvenate in the Healing Grounds Spa or swap tales with fellow guests in the games or library tents.
