Michelin-starred culinary delights in the alpine huts of Alta Badia. A luxury ski break in Italy just became a whole lot tastier.

When you think of street food, bustling markets and vibrant towns spring to mind; however, the alpine huts of Alta Badia are aiming to change that. Renowned chefs from Italy and further afield will all be competing for the crown of King or Queen of the Mountain restaurants, serving up winter versions of  street finger food to satiate the palates of the discerning, and hungry, skier.

Those competing form a galaxy of Michelin-starred culinary fabulousness. Amongst others, the DoloMitici chefs from Alta Badia are out in force and ready to go head to head; Norbert Niederkofler from the renowned two Michelin star St. Hubertus Restaurant, Arturo Spicocchi from the one Michelin star La Stua de Michil and Matteo Metullio from the La Siriola Restaurant will all be cooking up a feast piste-side. And they are joined by a number of leading international female chefs including Lanshu Chen, the celebrated chef from the Le Mout Restaurant in Taiwan, and Lea Linster - both will be in residence in Alta Badia for the festivities.

Each chef will be allocated one of 14 mountain huts during the whole winter season 2013/14 and you will be able to sample their innovative offerings for just €12. This price includes an appetizer prepared by one of the outstanding Michelin-starred chefs and a glass of South Tyrolean wine - the choice of wine being of the utmost importance, selected to highlight and compliment the food by the region's best sommeliers.
