Etihad Airways’ vision to become the world’s best airline is now closer to being realised after the addition of The Residence by Etihad to their first class offering.
The world's first private multi-room cabin on a commercial passenger aircraft, the exceptional new three-room suite on the Airbus A380 will allow two guests to travel in the in the epitome of luxury, with access to a private shower suite, separate double bedroom and separate living area - a level of luxury and total privacy normally found only on a private jet.
Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways' Chief Commercial Officer, said: "The Residence will set Etihad Airways apart from the rest of the industry and allow us to provide the complete range of world-class products and services to cater for the individual tastes of every VIP traveller… ushering in a new era of luxury travel in commercial aviation."
Guests staying in The Residence will also enjoy the services of an on-call, Savoy-Academy-trained personal butler and an inflight chef who can prepare a range of gourmet à la carte meals or create custom menus on request.
Designed with both comfort and aesthetics in mind, the brief was to bring the individuality and exclusivity of a luxury boutique hotel experience to the sky. The result - a unique design inspired by best-in-class boutique hospitality. Each A380 will house a boutique version of The Residence with different colour palettes, table marquetry and custom carpets. Bedrooms are also furnished with with an Italian Poltrona Frau upholstered double bed with custom-made mattress, bedside unit, wardrobe, and under-bed storage for hand luggage - meaning those essential long haul items are easily accessible.
