Whilst everyone appreciates a fly-and-flop holiday - none more so than busy mums and dads – sometimes one of the challenges of a family holiday is how to keep little ones entertained.

Sani Resort's Learn at Sani programme has the solution. The scheme offers a selection of fun-filled activities for all the family to enjoy, whether you want to master a new sport or learn about the local area; all available for guests staying at at Sani Resort's three sites - Porto Sani Village & Spa, Sani Beach Club and Sani Asterias Suites. Below, we list Carrier's top five family activities at Sani Resort.

1. Family bike rides

The flat paths surrounding Sani Resort are ideal for family bike outings as there are no steep hills to conquer or traffic to avoid. If you're already sprinting past the competition Bradley Wiggins-style or are still trying to leave the stabilisers behind, guided bike tours of Sani are a firm favourite for all the family.

2. Tennis & Football Academies

Budding Rafael Nadals and Frank Lampards can hone their skills at Sani Resort's Tennis and Football Academies. There are six flood-lit courts where the whole family can play a rally, or children can enjoy a one-on-one lesson with a professional coach. Alternatively, children of all levels aged between five and fourteen can find their feet at the Football Academy and master the sport in skills sessions and group games, six days a week.

3. Farm visits and bird watching

A visit to the local farm in Nea Fokea provides an insight into the agricultural heritage of Halkidiki. Pick fresh fruit and vegetables from the fields before enjoying them with some cheese and local Tsipouro brandy - for the grown-ups. Finish your day with some bird watching in the world-renowned wetlands sanctuary that is conveniently located on Sani's doorstep before learning how to make a lifelike bird mask with the resident ornithologist.

4. Sailing & Paddleboard Yoga

Water babies will love the Sani Sailing Academy and paddleboard yoga lessons on offer at the resort. In association with the Nautical Club of Thessaloniki, children aged between 6-17 years old can take to the water and master the basics of sailing on the 10-hour course before receiving a certificate of completion. Or head to the shallow waters of Ammos beach for the complimentary paddleboard yoga lessons. Half of the session consists of paddling - great for your core - and the other half of yoga practice on the board. Taking a tumble provides a quick way of cooling off.

5. Local life: Sani Eco Days

Mingle with the locals on Sani Eco Days running every Sunday from June to August and participate in a full range of interactive and eco-focused activities. Learn how to make traditional pasta in the cooking classes, discover the stars of the Sani sky or enjoy traditional music and dancing. At the Eco market you can sample local honey, wine and jewellery and feast on freshly caught fish at the ouzo tapas fiesta.
