In a pristine pocket of riverine forest, Abu Camp offers safari chic, stylish, accommodation. Individually decorated wood and canvas tents feature elevated decks, indoor and outdoor showers and copper bathtubs. The lounge and dining area is complete with antique furnishings, with a relaxing bar deck, gym and pool. In addition to the regular game drives, a highlight here is the opportunity to participate in the elephant research and conservation programme. Guests may choose to spend a night in the Elephant Star Bed.
The best time to visit Botswana for game viewing in the delta areas is during the dry winter season from April to October when animals are drawn to water sources. Days are warm and sunny although nights can drop below freezing – in October temperatures can be particularly hot. The Okavango area tends to be more moderate than the Kalahari where seasonal differences are more extreme and activities vary according to wet (November – March) and dry (April – October) seasons.
