Enjoy the exclusivity of a Masai-owned 275,000 acre private setting in the Chyulu Hills between Tsavo and Amboseli, where the views towards Kilimanjaro are breathtaking. Contemporary rustic furnishings provide the keynote style in the spacious accommodations – the six pool suites and two-bedroom family unit being the epitome of savannah chic, featuring local thatch and gunite construction enhanced by amenities such as indoor-outdoor showers and rooftop star beds. In the main lodge there is an infinity pool, lounge and dining area for candlelit dinners or alfresco lunches on the veranda. Sumptuous cuisine, which is Relais & Chateaux recognised, includes picnic breakfasts and lunches to tie in with the lodge’s wealth of activities. As well as game drives, activities span cultural visits, hiking, horse riding and excursions to the National Parks, whilst children have their own dedicated guide ready to share his bush survival skills and supervise painting and games. January to March is hot and dry with the long rains usually falling from April to early June. Between June and October it is warm and dry during the day but cold at night. The migration usually arrives in the Mara from July with river crossings from Tanzania generally taking place between July and September. The herds rest in Kenya before crossing back to Tanzania in October/November. Kenya’s coast enjoys a tropical climate – April to June can be humid, tempered by monsoon winds. Nairobi is pleasant year round due to its altitude.
