Located on the private Kulala Wilderness Reserve in the Namib Desert, this secluded retreat is comprised of 23 thatched or canvas kulalas and three family tents, each designed to complement the natural, unscathed surroundings. Activities range from early morning guided drives to the dunes of Sossusvlei, to hot air balloon excursions across the breathtaking Kulala Wilderness Reserve. Photographers are spoilt for choice with a host of otherworldly attractions, from the depths of the Sesriem Canyon to the vast expanses of the Deadvlei clay pan. When out on safari, witness the likes of ostrich, gemsbok and spotted hyena in the vast Namib Desert, whilst night-time activities include searching for scorpions under UV light. After an action-packed day, experience sleeping under the stars on your private rooftop deck, with the cooling breezes from the desert aiding a blissful night’s sleep.
Namibia is generally pleasant year round with less rain than neighbouring countries. December to March can be more humid and rain may be expected. April and May are the greenest months, with some beautiful landscapes. Between June and August, temperatures can be cooler, dropping dramatically at night in the desert.
