Recently refurbished, the six ultra-luxury suites- which can be taken on an exclusive-use basis for groups of friends or families- each command a secluded position overlooking the riverbed. All suites are air-conditioned, emulating African safari chic with luxury furnishings, thatched roofs, romantic beds, rich linens and full en-suite bathroom, while outside stands the private heated spa bath from which you can view a multitude of game. Having offered the genuine safari experience for over thirty-five years, Sabi Sabi is an ideal Big 5 destination, day and night game drives are accompanied by Shangaan trackers and experienced rangers, always ready to go off road in search of thrilling close wildlife encounters. Safari guests will also be able to gain a unique insight into the important conservation projects currently underway in the Sabi Sand Reserve.
A year round destination, but expect cooler weather in the Eastern and Western Capes during winter, between June and August. Mpumalanga stays warm year round with temperatures, humidity and rainfall all increasing in the summer months between October and March. The whales return to the waters around Hermanus from July to November, and the spring months of August and September are particularly colourful along the Garden Route. The prime time for game viewing is generally the drier winter and spring months from April to September when animals frequent the waterholes. During the wetter summer months between October and March, animals can still be viewed but are more widely dispersed – from December to February there may be more sightings of newborn animals.
