Set on an island just 100 metres wide in the Zambezi River, this sister property of Tongabezi offers true seclusion – the five open-fronted thatched cottages having outdoor hot showers and a private deck to maximize the views over the floodplain. Honeymooners will fall for the romantic chalet sited on a secluded sandy shore at one tip of the island. While far enough away to avoid the tourist bustle of Victoria Falls, it is easy to get there, as well as to Livingstone’s lively Marumba market. Elephant sometimes cross to the island during the dry season, a particular hippo occasionally dozes behind the kitchen; guests can also expect sightings of impala, waterbuck, buffalo and exotic bird life. Drift quietly down the river on a sunset cruise or dine out on Sindabezi’s floating sampan.
