A relaxed camp set on a private concession within the Victoria Falls National Park and within sight of Victoria Falls’ famous spray curtain. The stylish main lodge has a convivial dining area, bar, sundeck and small pool whilst twelve spacious, light canvas suites each boast air-conditioning, inside and outside showers, bathtub and lounge; the private wooden viewing decks have a plunge pool overlooking the gorges that separate Zambia and Zimbabwe. Elephant Camp West is available for exclusive-use and provides a more intimate space for families or small groups travelling together, with four equally luxurious tented suites, lounge/dining area and pool. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the elephants at the Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuary, enjoy a lunch at the Lookout Café and a sundowner at the Batoka Gorge as well as nature and birding walks on the concession during their stay.
The dry winter months between May and October are generally the best months for game viewing as the grass is lower, the vegetation less dense and the animals are driven to the waterholes to quench their thirst. Temperatures are hot during the day but can drop significantly at night, even falling below zero in Hwange. Daytime temperatures in October can be exceptionally high. The rainy season is usually from December to March, with beautiful, green landscapes. Victoria Falls are at their most dramatic from March to May, though the mist created by such a volume of water can obscure the views.
