Picture postcard perfection on one of the prettiest islands in the Bahamas. Coral Sands is a charming retreat set on a bluff overlooking a turquoise ocean fringed by wide stretches of soft pink sand. The colonial-style rooms exude plantation chic with views of the ocean or across the tropical gardens. If privacy is a key requirement, the Oceanfront Cottages and Beach House, designed by Barbara Hulanicki, are attractively positioned with paths leading directly onto the beach. The restaurant is justifiably renowned for its fresh, creative cuisine and exemplary wine list. A lagoon style freeform pool is tucked away in the fragrant gardens, with tennis, games room and complimentary watersports equipment such as kayaks and boogie boards available for guests’ use. The Bahamas enjoy a warm, subtropical climate that varies little year round – the most refreshing time to visit is from November to May, with average temperatures of 26°C, though evenings may feel fresher due to the cooling trade winds. The summer months are hotter and humid, with the possibility of tropical showers.
