A resplendent gem on Tenerife’s Costa Adeje, this member of The Leading Hotels of the World is a luxury resort on several levels, comprising three distinct areas of accommodation. In addition to the colourful rooms and suites arranged in a horseshoe around the pools, there are the Casas Ducales. Designed by Pascua Ortega, they form a hotel within a hotel featuring Canarian-style houses with special services including those of a resident butler. The luxuriant Las Villas form the third section, complete with their own private reception and reading lounge. Deciding where to dine poses a pleasurable dilemma at Bahía del Duque. Choices include French restaurant La Brasserie, Basque Steakhouse SUA, seafood lunches at the Beach Club, creative Canarian cuisine at Las Aguas, Italian restaurant La Trattoria and a new concept that focuses on seasonal products and market based cuisine, Alisios Market Food. A half board menu is included in all the a la carte restaurants for dinner, except in the new Sensu Kazán. The externally located Japanese fine dining venue is the brainchild of Michelin-star winning Grupo Kazán, and includes a raw sushi bar and robatayaki grill, set in a warm and modern atmosphere. Ideal for couples and families alike, it is the perfect accommodation for those seeking a beach holiday, with a secluded stretch of sand and pristine waters close by. For children the resort is paradise, with a complimentary Mini Club to provide a full programme of entertainment. At the spa, Bahía del Duque guests can experience a range of pampering treatments within four treatment rooms in the Thai Room Spa, enjoy an 35-metre outdoor Thalassotherapy pool, unwind within five outdoor cabanas, or soak up the sun from the open air sun deck with hamman, sauna and two experience showers.
Located in the central square of Bahía del Duque, emblematic restaurant, La Brasserie, reopened in March 2016 with a fully renovated design. Inspired by traditional Parisian brasseries, there is furniture from French Provence, lamps from the 19th Century and chairs from the sixties - and a refreshed dinner menu with a renewed concept by prestigious Belgian chef Pierre Résimont, expert in international cuisine. Savour Mollet eggs, cépes soup, croutons and foie gras. "Passion, creativity and flavours are the ingredients of my cuisine and I hope the guests of Bahía del Duque enjoy it", states Résimont. The pièce de résistance has to be the new open kitchen.
The more health and wellbeing conscious guest will be keen to visit the large spa at Bahía del Duque, which features thalassotherapy treatments and hot stone massage with lava rocks. There's a sauna, Turkish bath, a healthy-eating restaurant, a thalassotherapy pool and a beauty salon with a full menu of treatments. Visit the Kinesis Gym and Chi studio for free Pilates sessions.
Prestigious sports physiotherapist Michal Novotny has a practice within the Bahia Spa. First-class sports massage techniques with osteopathy, overall posture re-education and anti-aging treatments await - if he's good enough for the likes of Nadal, Federer, Sharapova and Gulbis, then you're in the right hands. Mainland Spain’s climate varies from temperate in the north to dry and hot in the south. Spring and autumn are pleasant and warm whereas July and August are hot, particularly inland. In Mallorca sunshine and warm temperatures are the norm from April to October with the cooling influence of the sea preventing excessive temperatures during the peak summer months, winters are mild and dry with occasional showers. Tenerife and Gran Canaria are year-round destinations, the climate being constantly warm for most of the year with July and August being hot.
