Combining the experienced service of the hotel with the cosseted personal luxury of villa accommodation, this exclusive development is a sumptuous addition to the resort. Tucked away in their own private area, the villas have their own reception and concierge as well as individual pool areas and large terraces. Couples and families alike will appreciate the spacious interiors designed by Pascua Ortega, large living areas with Bang & Olufsen entertainment, enormous basalt stone baths in the bathrooms and the lush sub-tropical gardens. The villas enjoy the services of a butler, on hand to whisk guests around the resort in a private buggy. Deciding where to dine poses a pleasurable dilemma at Bahía del Duque. Choices include French restaurant La Brasserie, Basque Steakhouse SUA, seafood lunches at the Beach Club, creative Canarian cuisine at Las Aguas, Italian restaurant La Trattoria and a new concept that focuses on seasonal products and market based cuisine, Alisios Market Food. A half board menu is included in all the a la carte restaurants for dinner, except in the new Sensu Kazán. The externally located Japanese fine dining venue is the brainchild of Michelin-star winning Grupo Kazán, and includes a raw sushi bar and robatayaki grill, set in a warm and modern atmosphere. Close to the villas is the Spa Bahía del Duque, built over three levels with palm-shaded relaxation areas and open-air treatment cabanas, situated amongst saltwater pools and fragrant gardens linking to saunas and crystal steam rooms.
Mainland Spain’s climate varies from temperate in the north to dry and hot in the south. Spring and autumn are pleasant and warm whereas July and August are hot, particularly inland. In Mallorca sunshine and warm temperatures are the norm from April to October with the cooling influence of the sea preventing excessive temperatures during the peak summer months, winters are mild and dry with occasional showers. Tenerife and Gran Canaria are year-round destinations, the climate being constantly warm for most of the year with July and August being hot.
