Get to know the reserve and its native fauna from the comfort of a 4WD touring bus, departing with field guides towards sunset for opportunities to view kangaroos, wallabies and diverse birdlife. The Wolgan Signature Wildlife & Sundowners Tour culminates with drinks at the homestead while being immersed in the Wolgan story. On the Nocturnal Wildlife & Stargazing Tour, also by 4WD bus, gain insights into the constellations of the night sky while seeking out possums, wombats, gliding marsupials and other nocturnal creatures.
A Wolgan Signature Horse Trail Ride brings the opportunity to ride at a leisurely pace amid scenic hills with river crossings, open grasslands and eucalypt woodland, often moving through mobs of kangaroos. This is a small group experience, with routes graded according to the group’s abilities. Longer Private Trail Rides in the company of an experienced guide cross some of the higher ridgelines, with a rest stop for morning or afternoon tea, or picnic lunch.
Australia’s seasons in most areas are the opposite to those in the UK and best visited from November to March. However, the best months to visit the Northern Territory, Kimberley and tropical North Queensland are during the dry season from April to November.
