This former residence of a Maharaja offers tranquillity and old world charm amid rich interiors graced by sweeping staircases, chandeliers, marble floors and works of art from the Maharaja’s collection. The elegant Palace Rooms and Suites draw their names from distinguished guests such as Lord Mountbatten and Queen Elizabeth II, all being generously sized with large windows overlooking the gardens. Bespoke cuisine is served in the candle-lit restaurant or destination dining can be arranged at Baradari; the Jiva Spa provides a journey of wellness. After exploring the Palace and the grounds take a boat ride on the Ganges and walk through the winding lanes of the old city.
The best time to visit India is from October to March. The monsoon season occurs from May to September with high rainfall particularly in the south, although hotel offers are at their most attractive during this time.
