Villars is a well-established village resort with numerous attractions for skiers and non-skiers alike including a two kilometre sledge run, indoor ice rink and a main street lined with welcoming tea rooms, pizzerias and bistros. Beautiful views across the valley are appreciated by skiers and non-skiers alike with enchanting winter walking trails leading to secluded mountain restaurants and sunny terraces. From the village, take the mountain railway to the scenic runs at the top of Bretaye or the gondola to the Roc d’Orsay. Families and beginners will love the wide, uncrowded pistes and gentle nursery slopes, while intermediates can test their skills on the delightful long cruising runs from Meilleret to Les Diablerets – an unspoilt village which sits beneath the imposing Diablerets Glacier. Expert skiers can hire a guide and explore surprisingly good off-piste. Lift passes of three days or more increase the ski area to 225 kilometres by including Leysin and Les Mosses, both easily accessible by rail or road.
