The Breakers is the destination for avid golfers with two championship courses; directly on site is the par 70 Ocean Course, Florida first eighteen hole golf course, ten miles away is The Breakers Rees Jones Course. Golfers at all levels will enjoy improving their technique or lower their handicap at the John Webster Golf Academy with golf class golf instruction, school and clinics. Beyond The Breakers, West Palm Beach is an excellent destination for golf. Palm Beach National Golf & Country Club is a classic, player-friendly layout that is a local favourite. West Palm Beach Golf Course is another popular play. This public course stands out thanks to the abundance of palms, pines, and oaks throughout its landscape. Just north of West Palm Beach is PGA National Resort & Spa, host of the Honda Classic.
With perennial sunshine and long days, Florida is a holiday destination to visit all year-round. The state is warm and dry in the winter and hot and humid in the summer, when short, heavy showers can be expected. Families who are tied to the school holidays should ideally aim to book at least a year in advance in order to take advantage of the best airfares and hotel availability.
