In the summer season, days are sunny and warm, but the night air can sometimes be cooler in northern mountains and coastal regions. The fall months bring the best travelling weather where the air is crisp and cool. The winter season is snowy, with around 35 inches per year in the south of the region, whilst the upper mountains receive over 100 inches annually. Spring is mild but showers can be expected.
