Holiday Type / Luxury Travel: All-time Favourites 2017 - USA Ski & Snow

It's hard to get more American, glamorous or service-oriented than Aspen and
Vail. Two of the world's most legendary ski resorts, the star-studded Colorado towns share as many attributes as they do defining differences. Aspen claims 5,517 acres of skiing dispersed across
four distinct mountains, while Vail offers 5,289 acres in its single ski area. Aspen's historic silver mining town bristles with pretty Victorian buildings housing swanky boutiques, art galleries and restaurants, while Vail delivers a youthful vibe with its purpose-built village set at the base of the slopes. Both guarantee flawless service
on and off the piste, seemingly endless ribbons of perfect corduroy groomers and acres of challenging backcountry terrain regularly doused in Colorado powder. If choosing between them poses too great a challenge, simply do both: they're only a two hour drive (or ten minute flight) apart.
