Mandalay, Bagan, Mount Popa, Sagaing, Maymyo / Belmond Road to Mandalay - Ayeyarwady Adventure

A tour of the royal capital Mandalay, spectacular ancient city of Bagan, revered Mount Popa, the Sagaing Hills and the colonial hill station of Maymyo are among the highlights of this journey. With meticulous attention to detail, the Belmond Road to Mandalay is without doubt the most luxurious cruise ship in Burma, bringing guests an incomparable opportunity to experience the sights and sensations of this tradition-steeped land. Cabins are exquisitely decorated with rich fabrics and intricate furnishings made by Burmese artisans. State Cabins feature spacious bathrooms and flat screen televisions, while the Governor’s Suite takes luxury to the next level. Lounge on the deck beside the swimming pool, and feast on gourmet cuisine in the elegant restaurant as the ship voyages along the Ayeyarwady River between Mandalay and Bagan. Whispering through countryside where time appears to have stood still, passengers can gain an authentic glimpse of the Burmese way of life, stepping ashore to explore local villages and offer alms to monks in the early morning – all enjoyed in the company of knowledgeable guides. In the evenings, charming local entertainment takes centre stage, from marionette performances to graceful dances. As the resident pianist plays softly and the sun sinks low, there is surely no more memorable way to feel at first hand the very pulse of Burma.
