Heidi Gosman, co-founder of beachwear brand Heidi Klein, recently travelled with Carrier to One&Only Ocean Club, Bahamas. The holiday style guru shares highlights from her stay.
An Eden of Serenity
My four-night stay at the One & Only Ocean Club in Nassau, Bahamas, was truly memorable. We had a wedding to attend on the island so this was a rare trip without the children. The immaculate sandy beach, towering palm trees and lush gardens created an idyllic setting for me and my husband and provided a true eden of serenity for some brief 'me-time' and relaxation.
From our private balcony, we enjoyed sweeping sea views - a perfect setting for our indulgent afternoon siestas. After our nap, we liked to take a stroll around the impeccable gardens - they really are a joy to walk around.
The service superseded all our expectations
From sunrise to sunset, the service is excellent and superseded all our expectations. Our personal butler, Christopher, couldn't have been more accommodating and attentive - from driving us around the resort to carrying our luggage, he was a true gem and very knowledgable about the area. I had time before the wedding to indulge in a complimentary foot massage on the resort's private beach. Latricia, one of the excellent spa staff, went out of her way to provide a therapeutic and relaxing massage. I wanted to lie there all day.
Scrumptious breakfasts
Dune Restaurant, managed by the culinary mastery of renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, boasts magnificent views of the beach. During our visit we tucked in to a scrumptious breakfast each morning - the spread was vast and we especially liked the crispy semolina cakes. We also enjoyed cocktails at Dune bar. We always got a seat by the large windows overlooking the sea and the bartender was super friendly.
A long, barefoot beach walk
When I'm away, I like to get up before my husband and take a long, barefoot beach walk and this is the sight which greeted me each morning. Heaven.
The Only & Only Ocean Club is a beautiful resort and the perfect getaway. Unfortunately our trip was short and our time was limited because we were here to attend the wedding of a dear friend. However, we loved it so much we have booked to go back next year in May with the children. I simply can't wait.
