With its pastoral air and enchanting setting this newly built Wilderness Camp promises a memorable close-to-nature experience, surrounded by albida trees and frequented by local elephants. Surrounded by grasslands and forests and strung out along the banks of the Zambezi on a private concession in Mana Pools National Park, the camp comprises ten superbly appointed tents, each with stone floors and wooden beams. An artistically designed wardrobe area leads to a spacious bathroom replete with indoor and outdoor showers, a private and scenic outdoor bath with a view and a mokoro-shaped copper wash basin. Listen to the sounds of nearby hippo as you stargaze from your deck whilst the main camp hub has inside and alfresco dining areas, a bar and small pool. Day and night game drives are complemented by riverboat trips, guided nature walks and canoe safaris.
The dry winter months between May and October are generally the best months for game viewing as the grass is lower, the vegetation less dense and the animals are driven to the waterholes to quench their thirst. Temperatures are hot during the day but can drop significantly at night, even falling below zero in Hwange. Daytime temperatures in October can be exceptionally high. The rainy season is usually from December to March, with beautiful, green landscapes. Victoria Falls are at their most dramatic from March to May, though the mist created by such a volume of water can obscure the views.
