Built into a dramatic cliffside overlooking Santorini’s immense volcanic caldera, the hotel, which has been recently renovated and boasts full elevator access to all levels, comprises a number of seventeenth century cave houses converted into evocative luxury suites. To contrast with the pure white ambience of the interiors, Hermes fabrics and Paola Novone designed furniture have been employed to stunning effect, while outside each suite there is a plunge pool or swimming pool. Dining is an unforgettable experience, the Petra Gourmet restaurant being carved into the cliff face and having just three intimate tables. The adjacent wine cellar has a fine collection of Greek and international wines, with wine tastings always available. As for recreations, guests can work out in the fitness centre, enjoy a massage or stroll into charming Oia town. Water lovers can laze by the infinity pool or enjoy an excursion on board the property’s own deluxe motor yacht, perfect for cruising around Santorini or visiting other islands.
Greece is blessed with a Mediterranean climate. From mid May to mid June and mid September to October the climate is pleasant and sunshine is plentiful. July and August are hot with temperatures reaching 37°C. Winters tend to be mild in the south but much cooler in the north with an increased chance of rain.
