Located in Jackson Village in the White Mountains, The Wentworth Hotel echoes a gentler tradition of turn-of-the-century New England inn keeping. Famed for its romantic ambience, the hotel is ideal for couples on a luxury getaway, or for those who want to explore the scenic landscape. Choose from standard and superior rooms or the deluxe accommodations – some of its European style rooms having a private outdoor hot tub. Guests can look forward to an authentic New Hampshire dining experience – many of the ingredients being reared and grown locally. On Friday evenings ‘Bill the Mushroom Man’ often dines in the restaurant – he has been providing the hotel with wild mushrooms for over twenty years. An abundance of activities include golf at the adjacent Wentworth Golf Club and cross-country skiing in the winter months.
New England has four distinct seasons and is truly a year-round destination. In the summer season, days are sunny and warm, but the night air can sometimes be cooler in northern mountains and coastal regions. The fall months bring the best travelling weather where the air is crisp and cool. The winter season is snowy, with around 35 inches per year in the south of the region, whilst the upper mountains receive over 100 inches annually. Spring is mild but showers can be expected.
