Drakensburg Mountains
Pick up a hire car and drive to Three Trees at Spioenkop for a 3 night stay. Against the backdrop of the Drakensberg Mountains, soft adventures in spectacular settings await – go hiking or mountain biking along mountain trails and swing over forests on a zip wire. Quad biking, hot air balloon rides and helicopter trips can all be arranged, with white water rafting available from November to May. Approximate driving time 3 hours 45 minutes (FB)

Zulu Wars
Drive to Fugitive’s Drift, a National Heritage Site set in its own private game reserve, for a 2 night stay. The 1879 battles of Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift, immortalised in the film ‘Zulu’, are brought to life in an engaging and emotive way. Sit on the battlefield itself and be mesmerised with tales of bravery and incredible victories. Approximate driving time 2 hours 30 minutes (FB)

Journey to Phinda
Drive to andBeyond Phinda Private Game Reserve where you will stay at Mountain Lodge for 3 nights. Visit between November and February for the opportunity to witness enormous leatherback turtles nesting at Sodwana Bay. Scuba diving can also be arranged (FI)

Relax on the beach
